Meeting of the Kansas (Central States) Entomological Society

The 94th Annual Meeting of
the Kansas Entomological Society (Central States Entomological Society)

On April 6-7, 2018, we will be celebrating the 94th annual meeting of the Kansas Entomological Society on the Washburn University campus in Topeka Kansas. This meeting will be a joint meeting with the Kansas Academy of Science, which will be celebrating its 150th (Sesquicentennial) Annual Meeting. This two-day meeting provides an excellent opportunity for scientists of many disciplines and at all levels, especially including undergraduates, to share scientific discoveries with one another formally in both poster and oral presentations, as well as informally during our field trips and social time.

The meeting agenda has not been finalized, but will likely include field trips on Friday to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Kansas Museum of History. There will be two keynote speakers, Dr. Scott Hawley from Stowers Institute for Medical Research on Friday evening, and Dr. Rebecca Schmidt-Jeffris from Clemson University on Saturday afternoon. In addition to our Friday keynote speaker and banquet, on Friday evening we will have a brief session discussing the history of science in Kansas. The Saturday session will include Oral and Poster presentations, with special sessions on entomology and behavior along with the 19th Annual KAS Paleontology Symposium.

Abstracts are required for both oral and poster presentations. Abstracts are limited to 250 words, excluding title, authors and affiliations.

Abstract Submission Deadline: March 2, 2018. Please follow the link below for registration, abstract submission, and further information.
