The Kansas Entomological Society
The Central States Entomological Society
The Society goes by both of the above names.
It provides a forum for entomologists and welcomes as members all persons interested in insects or other terrestrial arthropods, their ecology, behavior, systematics, physiology, control, conservation, etc.
was established in 1928, and produces a quarterly publication, the Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society that contains papers by local authors as well as by persons from many other parts of the world.
The Society holds annual meetings in Kansas or nearby states, at which students as well as established entomologists present results of their research or reviews of topics of interest. There are no concurrent sessions! Thus interactions among individuals and their diverse disciplines are fostered.
-- CALL FOR PAPERS --
JOURNAL OF THE KANSAS ENTOMOLOGICAL SOCIETY
The Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society (JKES) is presently calling for papers in all areas of entomology. JKES is a peer-reviewed journal with particular interest in the Central States but also has a national and international out-reach. JKES publishes high-quality articles, in English, in all areas of entomology. The Journal welcomes submissions of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence. Research papers and short communications are the most common submissions but scientific notes and checklists as well as book reviews are considered. A cover letter with names, email addresses and affiliations of three possible reviewers as well as a declaration that the prospective manuscript is original and has not been published before nor is under consideration by another publisher.
The Journal will be transitioning to an online submission process soon so please check the web site for details. Please address questions to the editor at email@example.com and visit our web site at http://kes.allenpress.com/kes/HOME.aspx for more information.
